Every successful journey begins from a starting point. That is where all the excitement and expectations, the euphoria and the momentum start building up.
I am extremely delighted to take charge as the CEO for Indo-Australian Business Club (IABC), an organization, which has been
formed with the objective of fostering the trade, business, investment, education and people-to-people contacts between India and Australia.
Thirteen years of my professional life were wholly spent in identifying, pursuing and promoting Indo- Australian business opportunities. I made
ten business visits to Australia, Interacted with over 2000 Australian companies spread
across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Read More
I had the opportunity to hand hold over 400 Indian companies in establishing their business in Australia. Most of these companies were small and medium enterprises. I often recognised that it is these SMEs who are truly the engines powering Indo-Australian business growth.
There could be hundreds of SMEs in the Indo - Australian space waiting to come to the limelight and add value to the expanding bi lateral business landscape.
Most of them need some careful hand holding and some well-focused nurturing. That is the job, the Indo-Australian Business Club promises to do in the years to come.
We have received overwhelming support from both the corporate and SME communities in the two countries.

➊ Shri Ram Nath Kovind, President of India, visited Australia from 21-24 November, 2018. This was the first ever visit by
an Indian President to Australia.
➋ The Governor-General of Australia, H.E. The Hon. Sir Peter Cosgrove and Lady Cosgrove visited India in
March 2018 and he also represented Australia at the International Solar Alliance (ISA) on March 11.
➌ Australia has released a Report on its economic strategy for India titled “An India Economic Strategy to
2035: Navigating from Potential to Delivery”, an ambitious plan to unlock economic opportunities from
➍ The Hon. Daniel Andrews, the Premier of Victoria, during his maiden visit to India in January 2018,
launched Victoria’s India Strategy: Our Shared Future, a comprehensive commitment by the government

➎ The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has signed its first Toll-Operate-Transfer concession
agreement with Macquarie Group, the Sydney-based infrastructure asset management company for A$ 1.9
billion (Rs. 9,681.5 crore).
➏ Cab aggregator, Ola, launched its services in Australia, its first international market.
➐ The 15th Session of the India-Australia Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) was held at Canberra on
25th June 2018. The JBC was chaired by Mr. Suresh Prabhu, Indian Minister for Commerce & Industry and
Civil Aviation and Mr. Steven Ciobo, the Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment.
➑ New South Wales Premier, Ms. Gladys Berejiklian announced a two-year AUD 1.58 million partnership
with India to enhance the country’s startup, technology, and advanced manufacturing sectors.
➒ Western Australian Tourism Minister, Mr. Paul Papalia visited India in October 2018 as part of his
continuous efforts to establish direct non-stop flights between India and Perth and also appointed a dedicated marketing representative for the State in India.
➓ Queensland Government launched the State’s first official Queensland-India Trade and Investment
Strategy with an aim to deliver a $1.5 billion trade boost to the state’s economy.
